The King Edward is a teaching hospital and the second largest hospital in the Southern hemisphere, providing regional and tertiary services to the whole of KZN and Eastern Cape. They have a Nursing College attached to it with these specialties:

Dr James McCord opened McCord Hospital in 1909 to provide medical care to the Zulu people of Durban, South Africa.Today they provides top quality, affordable healthcare for all population groups. The hospital is also a centre for health education, training and research locally and internationally.
